Five of Wands

Click on the card for more info.

The Dream
Under five crossed and opposing wands, two leaders of competing forces face each other. They have reached an impasse. There has been much quarreling, and finally armed combat, but these warriors still respect each other as all men of war respect a worthy opponent. They are equally paired and neither one is willing to concede defeat as each holds his point of view to be correct. In their confrontation, there is much energy that is held back. Although angry and frustrated, they are restrained in their dealings with one another, hoping that they still may win by making the other admit his errors of judgment. If wisdom prevails, this struggle can remain balanced and perhaps, eventually, these stubborn soldiers will be able to compromise and accommodate each other's point of view. The circle above them represents a higher plan which has not yet been revealed.

The Awakening
In this world of competition and conflicting views, stand up for yourself and your ideas. Refuse to be a victim. But in a frustrating situation, try to be creative instead of restrictive. The struggle should be fair and representative of all points of view. If your sense of self is strongly defined and manifested, do not let this deny others a forum for their own ideas. Do not fail to express your own ideas with clarity and logic.

The Enchantment
Under a new moon, cut out a circle of paper the size of your fist, then cut it in half. On one half, write a list of your points of view in red. On the other half write down your opponent's points in blue. Now tape the circle back together and hold it up to the sky saying: "I don't see the moon, though I know it is there. I don't see the end of this strife, though I know it is there. Two parts of a whole are equal." Burn it.

Always perform our Enchantments in a safe manner. Use caution with scissors and all sharp objects. All candles and all fires should only be lit in well ventilated areas and in appropriately strong and fireproof metal or ceramic containers that are stable and have walls to prevent sparks from leaping out. Never leave a candle or fire burning unattended.
