King of Swords

Click on the card for more info.

The Dream
Bearing a white dove, symbol of his airy domain, the King of Swords stands among the clouds and contemplates his kingdom. His helmet is crowned with wings representing the maturity of his ideas. He lives for mental stimulation. Sometimes his thoughts lead him to daydreams and forgetfulness but his excellent problem-solving abilities bring him quickly back to reality. In dealing with potential adversaries he is diplomatic and clever but he never discards his weapons and shield. He is an excellent ruler and a recognized authority on many subjects, like his sister the Queen. Unlike the Queen, however, his modest and refined bearing will not permit either an air of superiority or arrogance. A thoughtful adviser to his subjects, he is a fine judge and critic. On the negative side, his life is spent mostly on a mental level and he is emotionally cold and overly stern. This absence of emotion can even make him seem ruthless or heartless, although he is always attempting to be fair and true to the theory behind his decisions.

The Awakening
If you would be a master of the realm of ideas, remember that even if your intellect is aroused and stimulated by a flurry of new ideas, do not let it lead you into a state where daydreaming and imagining becomes more important than making your ideas real. Be aware that there are others around you who would love to share your thoughts and be stimulated by learning from you. Be aware that the appearance of the King of Swords in a reading may mean that a person with his qualities will soon be appearing in your life.

The Enchantment
Reward yourself by spending a quiet and relaxing hour or two listening to some soothing music. This will suit your aesthetic tastes as well as warm you emotionally. As you relax the mind, imagine the music vibrating through you and flowing out from you carrying a message of universal peace.

Always perform our Enchantments in a safe manner. Use caution with scissors and all sharp objects. All candles and all fires should only be lit in well ventilated areas and in appropriately strong and fireproof metal or ceramic containers that are stable and have walls to prevent sparks from leaping out. Never leave a candle or fire burning unattended.
