The Dream  
Outside this cave of sorrow and loneliness, darkening clouds scud across the sky of a chilly fall day. Under an inverted triangle of swords, a half-naked figure slides into a deep crevasse. Wounded hearts are enveloped by tearful black shapes that threaten to unite and engulf the scene. This triangle of swords has brought grief to this dream. Has a lover taken flight, perhaps with another, leaving the pain of loss, absence, and the inevitable mourning for what might have been? The swords are pointed at the figure's bared breast as the ground beneath her rocks unsteadily. Filled with self-pity and jealousy, where can she turn? She has been idealizing a person or a situation and now reality has led to disappointment. Life seems to be meaningless. Life can and must go on, however, and this inner pain must be endured as one lesson in a life of learning.

The Awakening  
Someone has destroyed your trust and your defenses are down. You are experiencing feelings of hurt and having bitter thoughts as you realize the incompatibility of your relationship. Remember your true identity as a spirit in flesh, and your true purpose as a soul traveling onward in knowledge born of experience. Give yourself the love you have been giving the other and your sorrow will be conquered.

The Enchantment  
Lie on your back and close your eyes. See yourself at a time when you were successful and content. Recall as much detail as you can. If thoughts of pain or blame intrude, notice them, then let them go. Remember that sorrow preceded happy times and that joy can and will enter your life again. Feel that your healing has already taken place. Repeat, "The past is over. I am here. My soul is lighter. I am able to love myself again. I am healed."
