The Dream
This fatigued farmer's bowed figure suggests a certain inertia. He has labored long and hard cultivating his garden in this barren place. The soil is rocky, and it seems a poor spot at best. Evaluating the results of his efforts, he is disheartened. His project, started with such hopefulness, now seems blighted. The plant's sharp thorns have stabbed his fingers. Dark clouds have formed overhead, and there is a trace of snow in the gray sky. Will an early winter destroy all that he has worked for? While this card projects a fondness for botany and horticulture, it also advises the necessity of the two most important requirements for such pursuits: time and patience. Lessons are to be learned from both successes and failures. Good results take time and each plant or plan has an individual cycle that takes a specific time to be completed.

The Awakening
Fear of failing, or worry about future results will not determine a favorable outcome. You must maintain a strong desire to achieve, even in the face of defeat. The roots have dug deeply into the soil and the garden will bloom again in its own time. Remember that it is neither profitable nor necessary to continually measure the growth of your project.

The Enchantment
Stand in a garden or amidst some houseplants in the dark of the moon. Hold an apple. Say this line three times, concentrating and projecting these thoughts into the apple: "As my plants grow, as the Earth moves and as the fruit ripens, so I bud and I blossom and I receive." Then eat the apple.

Always perform our Enchantments in a safe manner. Use caution with scissors and all sharp objects. All candles and all fires should only be lit in well ventilated areas and in appropriately strong and fireproof metal or ceramic containers that are stable and have walls to prevent sparks from leaping out. Never leave a candle or fire burning unattended.
