Why I haven't written in a while

Amy and I have produced twenty-six published works in the past three years as part of our wonderful arrangement with our distributor, Sterling Publishing, which is, itself, wholly owned by Barnes & Noble. Our hard work has paid off and this is why we have our own shelf in most Barnes & Noble stores - let us know if our Enchanted World shelf is not in your local B&N store, you'll be doing us (and B&N) a big favor. The old saying, "Big things move slowly" is true for elephants and big corporations! ;-)

But I probably would have kept writing my blog had it not been for Amy tripping over the chord of one of her irons upstairs in her studio almost three months ago. She had been saying that she was going to take a break and she did - she broke her right radius head, her elbow. It took two months two heal, the first month was incredibly painful and she is quite a trooper, she hardly complained though I know it must have been excruciating. I helped as much as I could, doing the cooking and shopping and bathing her and washing her hair. It was my pleasure to be of assistance to her but it was quite time consuming, so that is a prime reason I didn't write this blog.

But around 5 PM on Memorial Day weekend we discovered that our beloved Zane was not well. He was weak and listless and we frantically took him to the regional after-hours emergency vet in Riverhead and since they had much more severely ill animals, we were there until three in the morning. Like Amy, his recovery took two months but she was a much better patient. I had to set up Zane's World up in our "library" where he basically stayed in his carpet covered cave on top of his cat tree which for him was like a prison. He has his own cat door and is used to coming and going as he pleased, but I nursed him back to health slowly but surely. He had gotten toxoplasmosis, cat scratch fever, either from a diseased rodent he ran into or from the new big black cat in town. He certainly had bite marks on his legs, we know because they shaved him - he looked like a poodle cat! He's almost 100% again, though he's like Captain Ahab and Moby Dick, searching every night for the big black cat to settle the score. We've been keeping him in at night until he is totally himself again.

Lots been going on and we have four new projects in Barnes & Noble and on Amazon and wherever fine divination systems are sold, though I wish we were in more stores. When you're sold by Barnes & Noble, Borders won't carry you, which is stupid, don't you think? Our creations sell because they are of the highest quality so why should Borders not carry them and service their customers. If you have a Borders near you and you have the time and the inclination, please ask them to carry one or more of our creations. Choose your favorite(s). You'd be doing us the greatest of favors.

OK, I don't want to pull another all nighter. I've done that a lot lately for good reason. I'll tell you more tomorrow.
