Astrological Reason for this Craziness Pt6

Part 6: CAPRICORN, AQUARIUS and PISCES

CAPRICORN

Capricorns are usually a stoic lot, used to keeping a lid on their emotions and forging ahead with their eye on the prize. You can see this in Capricorn’s symbol, a mountain goat with a fish’s tail. Water represents emotion in astrology.

Capricorns have deep emotional needs, including sexual needs, so the entrance of the Planet Pluto/Gaga into the Sign of Capricorn on November 27th, 2008, was a big deal for people with their Sun (vitality, life’s purpose, ego) in Capricorn. Pluto rules Scorpio and is the planet that is closely associated with sex, death, and the powers that can cause resurrection.  It will be there until 2023 – 2024, which seems like a long way off now but, then again, so did 2010 when I was a younger man.

So the Big Cardinal T-Square we are all being forced to deal with has snuck up on Pluto/Gaga and Capricorn people, too. Having Pluto in your sign is already difficult because Pluto is the planet that is associated with the most intense form of judgment possible. So Capricorns, already prone to depression because they don’t believe that they measure up to the authority figures they respect and whose respect they crave, now have a very powerful planetary vibration that reinforces their innate self-criticism. I won’t kid you, Capricorn people, that alone is a very difficult situation and then…along came Jupiter and Uranus in Aries and now Saturn entering Libra on the 21st of July of 2010. This T-Square may be difficult for most people, but it is most difficult for Capricorn people, in my humble opinion.

One reason for my opinion is that Pluto will still be doing its slow dance through Capricorn long after Jupiter (moves one Sign per year), Uranus (moves one sign every seven years) and Saturn (moves one sign every two and a half years) have gone on to shine their vibrations on other signs. But there is a silver lining to this: Capricorns have the opportunity to make the most lasting gains in the things that matter to them if they can keep their wits about them, not freak out and scream at those in a position to help them (that’s co-workers, bosses and partners of all kinds, as well as friends and lovers), and stop worrying about whether or not they measure up and just do their jobs to the best of their ability.

The biggest trouble we all have is not that we don’t measure up, it is that we think we don’t – this is not a unique problem to Capricorn people, we are all like that to a degree. It’s just that this issue is THE issue with Capricorn people, who want to be respected by those they respect (they don’t care what people whom they don’t respect think). So with Pluto in your Sign, it is like the Lord of Judgment is there to echo any self-criticism that you might indulge yourself with. You think, wow, I didn’t do that correctly, and Pluto amplifies that feeling into You Are Not Correct At All. Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio and it’s all about extremes and power, including power struggles.

Every Capricorn has a power struggle going on within them all the time, remember the goat with the fish’s tail? So Pluto being there makes this inner struggle, which is really a source of power for Capricorns, like an internal combustion engine of “Am I good enough?”, into a nitro drag strip jet fueled engine of “Do I deserve to exist?”

The answer is Yes, you do deserve to exist and if you can remember that, then you can use the energy of the supreme existential questions your asking yourself and, I hope, answering, too, use this energy to make leaps and bounds in your career. But always keep in mind the Renaissance era symbol taught to us by our late great astrological mentor, Leor Warner, and make haste slowly, symbolized by the Dolphin jumping over an anchor.

That is what Capricorns have to do now and the good news is once they calm down and stop thinking that This Is It, Life or Death, Make It or Go Home, they can use the energy of not only Pluto in Capricorn, but of their ruling planet Saturn in the Sign of Libra. Saturn is kinder to Capricorn people, if they are disciplined and stoic, then most other signs. Saturn squaring your Sun in Capricorn will bring to you the kind of test that you like the most, a chance to prove your worth. Don’t screw it up! ;-) Just kidding, and you should kid around a bit more than you are inclined to right now. Believe me, it won’t hurt at all and it could help you a lot. I’m not talking debauchery, I’m talking make more use of your dark Capricorn humor. When your sense of humor is not working, you should not be at work, either, because you’ll be too serious for words.

AQUARIUS

Full disclosure, I’m an Aquarius Sun (Amy is an Aries). The Sign of Aquarius is ruled by the Planet Uranus, which as I’ve said, is conjunct to the Planet Jupiter and both of them in the Sign of Aries. Aquarius and Aries are complimentary signs, sixty degrees apart (Class? Right, a sextile!) Amy and I love each other for a bunch of reasons but one of them is that Aries are totally honest and direct and Aquarians like that more than anything because they want to revolutionize and invent for the betterment of humanity and what better way to do that then to have your ideas challenged in an honest and direct fashion by someone who cannot lie? Since Aquarians don’t always know how they’re feeling about something, this kind of honesty is essential for us to know what the heck is up with us.

With Uranus, our ruling planet, making a sextile to our Aquarius Sun, we feel that things are crazy and out of the blue and destabilized and we don’t know what the heck is going on – in other words, we are like pigs in you know what. Aquarians LIKE it when things are crazy and unpredictable because we are, too, and so it helps us feel connected to society. It’s like someone who is used to hiking the back woods coming upon a busload of stranded hikers. We are now, all signs, all having to deal with Jupiter (big, expand, wise, grow) and Uranus (do it differently, bring in newness, be different) and so we Aquarians are responding to the fire bell in our little fire houses – we’re here to help, hence this now fifteen thousand word online not-so mini FreEbook.

But not all Aquarians are writing mini books. Some of us are reading them and studying and learning new things, the other side of this coin. Saturn is entering Libra, remember, and Libra, like Aquarius, is an Air sign and Air is the realm of ideas.

Most people think that Aquarius is a water sign because it’s symbol is the man with the jug pouring out water for all. This symbolizes Aquarius’ desire to quench the thirst of humanity, but there’s a catch. You may have seen the Snoopy cartoon where the little dog says “I love humanity, it’s people I can’t stand.” This is the Aquarian dilemma. We want to serve all but close personal relationships can be problematic because once we are close to someone, they get to see that we are not as detached as we appear to those with whom we are not close. In other words, we can become a pain in the butt to those close to us.

Complicating the Aquarian dilemma is that emotions, water, are something that we are more comfortable with pouring out than holding in. Aquarians can be overwhelmed by emotions and that’s not good when you’re the theoretician who is going to redesign society and solve all its ills. As the horrible monster, Joseph Stalin, said, “You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.” Aquarians want to tinker around under the hood of society and make changes and, as we can see by what’s happening in the world today, you cannot make big changes without encountering big backlash and unintended consequences.

The good news for Aquarians is that Saturn in Libra trines their Sun in Aquarius, super positive for just the right amount of discipline, self-discipline I mean, for rebellious Aquarians, and a great aid to keeping a lid on being disruptive, though there will be slip ups, to be sure. So the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is Aries being Sextile will help Aquarians to make haste slowly – to them, but faster than the other signs.

Once again, as I’ve advised the other signs who are not taking the brunt of the Big Cardinal T-Square in the sky, show your gratitude to the universe that you are not getting hammered as much as many other people and help them. I cannot stress enough that helping other people is just about the highest, most noble, meaningful, and purposeful thing a person can do while alive on Earth. And that brings us to the last sign, Pisces.

PISCES

The confusing thing for Pisces Sun people about the Big Cardinal T-Square is that they can feel the anguish that it is creating in so many people that they know, but Pisces is not really feeling that anguish personally. What Pisces Sun people are feeling is the fact that the planets Jupiter and Uranus, being in the Sign of Aries, means that they have recently left the sign of Pisces. So Pisces is like a small town that has just had spring break and a biker convention blow through – you’re cleaning up and fixing things from that time. And when you hear from your Aries/Libra/Capricorn/Cancer friends about their troubles and travails and how difficult it all is, you think you’re relating to them because of your recent bout with Jupiter and Uranus, but though it’s close, you get no cigar, just blank stares because your usual empathy is missing the mark with other people who are not Pisces Suns.

So, rather than just listen and be there for people who are in need of your empathy, it would be best if you actually spent time with them, helped them physically with projects, not just commiserating but commissioning them to work and/or working along side of them. Yes, it’s different for Pisces people to be this bossy, but to everything there is a season and it’s time to say hello to the new boss – you.

The Big Cardinal T-Square represents for Pisces people the feeling you get when your boat is lifted up to the crest of a large wave. For a brief moment you hang their weightless, suspended, and then the descent. If you can enjoy the ride and not need to share it or tell someone else about it, then you can reenergize yourself in ways large and small. If you think you can be your usual empathetic, whatever you say is cool, other person – self, then you will not have as good a time as you might otherwise have.

For Pisces, this is a time to ratchet up your game a couple of notches so that you are helping on more of a wholesale level, not your usual retail. Join an organization, a union, a club. Band together. Get political. Of course, it’s obvious that we all have to get political now, but now is a good time for us to listen to the wisdom of Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac. Because it’s last, it contains a bit of all the other signs within it. That’s the level of empathy that you can activate now, the Universal Human. Have fun.

And so we have now journeyed through the Big Cardinal T-Square and then journeyed further through its effects on the 12 signs of the zodiac. I can write more about it based on the questions I receive from you either here on FB or at info@theenchantedworld.com. Please, make your questions general enough so that my answering them will help everyone and not just you. Here’s to the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. I’m hoping that the BP spill will be capped today, it would be great timing with our exploration of the astrological event that I think symbolizes this environmental disaster whose political ramifications have the potential to return power to we, the people. If you think that is impossible, then you haven’t been reading what I’ve been writing. The purpose of life is to give your life purpose. The meaning of life is to give your life meaning. What greater thing can we do then to be part of the movement to marry technology with the promise of American democracy? Get informed, stay informed; get involved, stay involved. The best is yet to come! And, with all of their seemingly uncaring and unfeeling intrusions into our lives, the planets are here to help us be ourselves fully. All we have to do is make friends with them. It is my sincere wish that this, my FreEbook gift to you, has introduced you to the planetary energies that are there to help you and me be all we can be.

Namaste,
