Suppose that when we die and when our spirits leave our body
they exist in some way that is beyond time. So there's a good chance that, if
this is true, we not only leave our bodies, we leave this universe and enter
another one whose rules and realities are beyond our ability to imagine with
any certainty.
No one knows what happens to us when we die, but that
shouldn't stop us from putting our shoulders against the locked door to the unknowable.
Even if we just smell something or hear a muffled emanation from the other
side, the exercise of deciphering it may produce measurable benefit to those
on this side of that door, the same way that our race's merely sticking their
big toe into the ocean of space has produced scientific benefits too numerous
to mention, but Global Positioning Systems (GPS), digital mammography, and cordless
power tools are just three of them.
So let's think about time, yet another thing that scientists
don't understand very well at all. As I've often said, they don't know much about
gravity, electricity, the brain, the aforementioned outer space - the only
thing all scientists agree on is that astrology is a useless study, which it is
not, but at least they're united in some way and I'm secure enough in my
beliefs to not only not care about their foolishness, but to wish them well in
their Kumbaya hand holding in protest of just about everything I hold dear and
valuable.
But what is more valuable than time, whatever it is at its
core? It's hard to imagine anything more valuable to us when taken together
with what we hold dear in life. We need time enough to live, to love, to laugh.
Here's what I believe today, at this point in time, about
time: Time is the resistance to everything happening at the same time. In
electricity or plumbing, there is resistance to the flow of energy or water
caused by the wire or pipe it must flow through to be delivered for a useful
purpose. So it is with time.
Outside of this universe, in the place we "go" when we die
in this one or some other "place," someone viewing this universe might see
everything happening at once. Here in our universe, seeing something like that
would at the very least make us appear mad to anyone we were describing it to.
More likely, it would drive us mad to see everything happening at once. Hearkening back to our wire and water pipe analogy, it would be too much current
or water for anything but an infinitely thick wire or pipe. It would fry the wire and burst the pipe. I've often thought that some people we see as "crazy" actually see reality more clearly than we can imagine, but seeing it makes you unable to participate in it. We "normal" people are actually just better at putting our fingers in the dyke and only letting a trickle of reality out to water our gardens, not a torrent to drown everything.
And so our brains process everything happening at the same
time the way a straw or a hole in the dyke would process the ocean passing through it. We see a small
but manageable amount of the whole. The amount we see depends on how much we
are able to allow through our beings, and that is determined by how much
resistance we put up to greater amounts of information passing through our
brains, our hearts, and our intuition.
When I do a psychic reading, I stop resisting, I relax to the point of going to a different state of being. I open my being up as much as I
can, thereby decreasing my resistance to everything-happening-at-the-same-time,
another word play for God/dess, the Universe, Reality, you name it, literally,
that's all we can do is name it, we can never truly understand it, no matter
what some authors try and sell you about how they know with certainty about the
divine realms. As the book of Tao says, "They who know, do not speak. They who speak
do not know."
As so my psychic abilities and yours are directly
proportional to how much we are able to decrease our resistance to everything
happening at the same time. The way I do this is fairly simple: I know it is
possible that I can be open to the information that I seek for my clients and
receive it because I've done it thousands of times, and so I relax and simply
remember that it is possible that inside each of us is a beautiful search
engine whose accuracy is dependent on our ability to believe it exists, to
relax and let it work, and to have the unshakable bravery to report whatever
information we receive back to ourselves and our clients (that's our loved ones
and friends, too, of course). That's all you have to do, if you want to know the present, the future and the past. Each of us takes a step into the river and so we know the river we are standing in. But if you step into the river and listen to what it says when you ask it about the river it was before and the river it will be, it will tell you. But you have to stand still, ask, and listen with respect.
So Time, the ticking of the clock, exists in our brains (at
the very least) as a coping mechanism filtering out the information overload of
everything happening at the same time. It's easy to know that time is a relative thing, fluid, and dependent on the person measuring it. How fast does time go when you're having fun? How slow does time go when you're waiting for something to happen, or doing something unpleasant. The fluid nature of time is not an illusion, even if time may very well be one.
Everything happening at the same time is also known as The Akashic Records, the
hall of records where everything that ever was, is, and will ever be is "stored."
I don't see it as stored, I see it as the infinite energy of everything
happening at once. But we cannot limit everything!
By not limiting everything, I mean to say that included with
everything happening at once is every possible future emanating from every
point in time! It's all in "there." So, getting back to my psychic intuition, how can I see a particular future when there are an infinite
amount of possibilities in every moment?
A wonderful analogy for what I believe to be the answer to
this question is the now almost obsolete phonograph record and record player.
To those of you who cannot imagine that I was born before 8-track tapes,
cassettes, and CD's, a phonograph record is created when the microphones
picking up the sound of a band playing translate the sound into a rapidly
vibrating needle that cuts those vibrations into a wax phonograph record "master" in a unique way. The needle is on an arm and starts vibrating/cutting into the
vinyl creating a single groove in the record that starts at its outer edge and
works its way to the middle of the record. That master is used to make a "stamper"
that stamps out vinyl records, copies of that original master record. To play
it back, a phonograph needle rests in that groove containing the resulting
track of that vibrating phonograph needle that cut the original master, and the
phonograph player's needle deciphers the record's groove's vibrations and
translates them back into the sound of the band, or whatever was originally
recorded.
I took you back in time/technology because I believe that
the present moment is like the point of a phonograph needle resting on a
spinning record's groove. But in the case of time and its infinite
possibilities, the record of Time does not simply have one groove, it has an
infinite amount of grooves emanating both back in time and forward in time from the point of the needle, the point of the present moment.
What we do in the present moment, our point of power, strongly determines which
groove going forward we will follow. It's not certain, because there will be
many more moments of power to change our future direction before we get there,
but a psychic like me who can lower their resistance to blocking everything
happening at the same time will pick up a fairly accurate picture of where
things are most probably headed. Of course, there's no reading so good that a
person's free will cannot screw it up and the same goes for "challenging," you
know, as in bad readings! In most cases, follow up readings can help you
understand how to best deal with adversity.
The fluid nature of time, which is what we're talking about
here, explains spontaneous healing. When you vibrate strongly enough in a
present moment, whether that is caused by surgery, medicine, prayer, faith, or
grace, to name only a few possibilities, you not only change your future to one
of remission from disease, but you may actually change the past and send a
tentacle-like groove back in time from the present moment to a different past
where you didn't do what you did in the other past groove that led to illness.
The possibility of the present affecting the past is not
wishful thinking or lack of scientific thinking on my part, it is an accepted
part of quantum physics. So, that's me on time. What do you think of what I think? And what do you
think of time? Thinking about it, like time spent with cats, is never a waste
of time.
