About Us
The title of today's blog is inspired by the teachers who made us little people write essays of the same name on our first day back from summer vacation because for Amy and me, summer just ended!
I'll explain, but first I want to thank all of the people who have been so patient with me, coming back here to check out my all too infrequent blogs and writing to tell me that, yes, they've been reading them and find that reading them is like having a conversation with me. Nothing could make a writer happier than to hear that.
At the risk of setting myself up to fail to live up to my goal, I'm going to try and turn myself into a real blogger, one who writes regularly or at least not as infrequently as I've been doing. The purpose of today's blog is to explain the reason I've been so irregular: Amy and I have written not one, not two, but three projects since the spring of 2004!
THE TRUTH FAIRY PENDULUM KIT
The Truth Fairy Pendulum Kit teaches you how to use the included Amy-designed Truth Fairy pendulum/necklace to "dowse" for answers to your every question. It also contains a thorough Fairy Wisdom guidebook and twelve gorgeously Amy-illustrated truth boards, one for each of the twelve Fairies and their particular Truth. And we've made it so that it costs US$26.95, about what you'd expect to pay for just the beautiful fairy pendulum by itself!
Amy and I are totally in love with this fairy project and it is so sweet and so beautiful and it is SO COOL!! It's up on our website at this link Truth Fairy and it is in the stores now and I hope that you all will check it out and consider buying it either as a gift for someone else or for yourself. It is a Featured Selection in this month's One Spirit Book Club, the best book club in the world for truth seekers (plus you can get The Truth Fairy and so many other great books for a lot less money!)
As you know, we pride ourselves on our website being an online oasis free of hype and ads and I hope you don't mind my trying to spread the word about One Spirit, which we have been members of since day one, and further "braggin' on" The Truth Fairy, but our creative efforts aren't like our children to us, they ARE our children! And we're very proud of them and we are proud of all of our hard work, though it prevented me from blogging!
You see, since we are the kit's packagers, which means that beside being author and artist we also agented, negotiated, manufactured and delivered it to the US, Canada, Australia and the UK markets for the Thorsons/Element imprint of HarperCollins Publishers UK. So if you are in an English speaking country, The Truth Fairy is available through your local bookstore, as well as the online stores.
THE BREATHE EASY AFFIRMATION DECK
The Breathe Easy Affirmation Deck contains 36 cards, each one featuring a different affirmation to do to help you remember how to breathe properly. The greatest physical culture experts of India and the United States all agree that if you breathe properly, you wouldn't need any other exercise to stay fit and healthy! Maybe this is why animals don't seem to need exercise. Amy's lovely collages feature borders done in pen and ink by Amy's beloved and much-missed mother, the brilliant illustrator Jessie Spicer Zerner as a collaboration with Amy. We created The Breathe Easy Deck for Chronicle Books of San Francisco who do some of the hippest and most beautiful illustrated books in the world. We did not package it but, like the two previous decks we've created for Chronicle, Gifts of The Goddess Affirmation Cards and The Healing Deck, it looks beautiful. It will be published this coming fall.
CHAKRA MEDITATION KIT
I'm writing to you from our beautiful suite at the luxurious Largo Mar Resort on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If you read our "Upcoming Events" web-page, you know that we are down here because Amy is doing trunk shows at the Neiman Marcus stores both here and in a couple of days, in Palm Beach. Things went well today, so well that our new friend Sheila invited us to do another day, so we'll be there tomorrow, too!
I mention the above because we would not have been able to do these trunk shows if we had not just finished Chakra Meditation Kit, now at the printer and due to be our first Main Selection of the One Spirit Book Club in their February catalog! But we finished the art for its included portfolio/meditation altar and the guidebook's text and the design of the candles and it came out wonderfully. In it is everything you need to keep your chakras clean and balanced and spinning freely, including an incredible CD of guided meditations that Amy and I collaborated on with our friend Luigi G. Colarullo, a supremely talented composer/musician/recording engineer from Milan, Italy, who we were fortunate enough to have as a neighbor for the last few months - what a gift of The Goddess he is! I'll write more about Chakra Meditation Kit when it becomes available through One Spirit. Actually, you will only be able to get it through your membership in One Spirit until August, so there's yet another good reason to join!
And during the time we've created these three wonderful projects, Amy has continued to make the most exquisite one-of-a-kind "Spiritual Couture" jackets and coats for Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and her private clients, as well as design and cause to be manufactured her new line of ready-to-wear denim "Story Jackets," which you can see being modeled by our friend, the gorgeous Peggy Devine, on our home page. Peggy is also prominently featured throughout the Fashion section of Amy's extensive Art & Fashion portion of our website.
So that's why I haven't been blogging, I've been slogging' through an incredible amount of incredible projects. You can see why we say that our home is like a factory with bedrooms! And now that I've gotten the prideful reporting of "What I did last summer" out of my system, I'm all set to start blogging about our merry adventures as they happen. Tune in tomorrow for another episode of "Diary of a Tarot Reader," you won't be disappointed!
And for those of you who have read this far, I invite you to send in your requests for what you'd like to read in my blog. What do you want to know that you think I might be able to write about? That should be fun!
