The Planet Saturn Enters the Sign of Virgo
The planet Saturn's entrance into the sign of Virgo is a big deal for Amy and me because we both have Saturn in Virgo in our "natal" charts, the horoscope (meaning "to look at the hour") of the moment of our birth when viewed from the place of our birth, i.e., Teaneck, NJ, for Amy and Brooklyn, NY, for me. Saturn takes approximately 28 years to go around the solar system, give or take a couple of years, and when it comes back to the exact position it was occupying in the Zodiac at the moment of your birth you are said to be having your "Saturn Transit." The earlier name for Saturn was Chronos and everyone who wears a Chronograph knows that Chronos was the god of Time, so Saturn Transits represent major life passages.
Your first Saturn Transit represents your passage from youth to adulthood. You can't stay out late and otherwise abuse yourself the way you used to when you have your first Saturn Transit. Come to think of it, you probably have to dial down even further whatever abuse you're still putting yourself through when, like me, you get to your second Saturn Transit. I'm 57, which means I'm in my 58th year and though I live a much more healthy life than most, I'm still not doing all I know to take care of myself. For one thing, I need more sleep than I'm getting so I'm going to toddle off to be now and write more tomorrow. Being disciplined is the best way to handle a Saturn Transit. If you've done the work you're supposed to and not taken shortcuts, then Saturn can bring major rewards depending on the sign and house of your chart your Saturn occupies. If you've been phoning it in and goofing off, you can expect Saturn to teach you the error of your ways in some fashion that limits your freedom and forces you to buckle down. OK, Saturn, I can take a transit. I'm going to sleep and then write more tomorrow.
And if you have any astrology questions send them to me at info@theenchantedworld.com and I'll see what I can do about answering them. One instant manifestation of Saturn leaving Leo and moving into Virgo is that I'm more into astrology than I ever thought possible - it is such a powerful language. Night night! See you tomorrow! |
