The Dream
Wide-eyed and innocent as a new-born child, The Fool has descended from the celestial realms to alight on mountaintops of vibrant green and purple, ready to begin his mystical journey on the path towards enlightenment. All is new to him and he has not yet learned to fear. He lives from moment to moment, going forward without premeditated thought, unaware of the pitfalls or dangers which lie before him. In his pouch he carries the memories, instincts, and experiences of past lives--known as the "collective unconscious"--waiting to be used. He carries a wand symbolizing the pure faith of his actions. It is topped with a head that looks backward, relating The Fool's past to his present as he goes forward. The dog leaping behind him represents the animal nature of our physical bodies and is seen in playful harmony with The Fool, like a pet with a child. The dream is suffused with green, the color of growth, and the sky is filled with the clear new light of Spring and a shining, new life. Like the court jesters who maintained his tradition, The Fool can only tell the truth, for he has no malice or desire.

The Awakening
Do not over analyze things, sometimes you just have to take a risk. This is not the time for sophistication or searching for hidden meanings in the words or actions of others. Be as a child or you will not see the heaven on earth. Do not look back or attempt to anticipate actions or events. It is time for innocence and faith.

The Enchantment
Blow soap bubbles and think of nothing. If thoughts of the world intrude, see them as bubbles floating by and watch them pop, one by one. Play with children and let them, not you, guide the play. Chant a round of "Ring Around The Rosie," the child's song that, like the tarot itself, survived by hiding its wisdom in a game. Do not try to learn from these activities, just experience them.

Always perform our Enchantments in a safe manner. Use caution with scissors and all sharp objects. All candles and all fires should only be lit in well ventilated areas and in appropriately strong and fireproof metal or ceramic containers that are stable and have walls to prevent sparks from leaping out. Never leave a candle or fire burning unattended.
